She is a California Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and an APA Board Certified Professional Counselor. Colleen holds a BFA from New York University, a Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University, and a PhD in Philosophy from the American Institute of Holistic Theology. With over two decades of expertise in substance misuse treatment, Pedro Pereira has played a pivotal role in program development, staff training, and direct client services across various settings, residencial and outpatient, in both the United States and Portugal.
Pedro has held leadership and clinical roles in esteemed organizations, including serving as Clinical Director at Seafield Services in New York, where he supervised clinical staff, facilitated educational programs, and provided therapeutic services for individuals, adolescents and families. As a Case Manager at Heritage Counseling Clinic in Portugal, he supported both Portuguese and English-speaking clients through case management, group therapy, and aftercare services. Another significant aspect of Pedro’s career has been his work with young adults. During his tenure at Seafield Services, he implemented and served as a Case Manager for the Adolescent/Young Adult Program, providing specialized support tailored to the unique needs of younger clients navigating substance use challenges. His role included individual counseling, group facilitation, family education and intervention to promote lasting recovery. Additionally, Pedro has extensive experience as an educator, having served as a Lead Student Advisor and Lecturer at Outreach Training Institute, guiding students through the OASAS NY State counseling credentialing program.
